Community Service:
Feed the Homeless during Covid-Pandemic at the people's park in Oakland, CA

Several members of SSK Foundations spent Sunday morning passing out food and essential kits to the un-house at "The People's Park" in Oakland, California.

This group of un-house individuals were very organized and had their "community meeting" on a weekly basis, which happens to be the same morning that SSK Foundations members were there so they joined the meeting to hear their stories.
Some individuals have been there for years, while others are new to their group. They plan about where they go as a group to get food or support, and they also turn a section of the park into a garden where they grow vegetables, such as tomatoes, onions, and various others...

We are now in the 7th months of lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic, and we are seeing the toll it has taken on families, especially those who has school-age children. The topic of school openings has been a heated debate amongst many parents. Some are for it and some are against it.

In this workshop, we had the privilege of speaking with some of the professionals in the fields; from principal, to counselor, to specialist. Hearing their feedbacks, advice, and open discussions with kids and parents on the good, the bad, and the in-betweens.

Visiting the Nursing Home
Life is an endless circle. We start out life with not knowing how to take care of ourselves, and then most people grows up to be capable and independent, and if we are lucky, then we get to live a long enough life where we will need assistant again.
Unfortunately, so many elders get abandoned or forgotten, and this has a huge impact on the elders emotionally and psychologically.
SSK's members came to play bingo, listen to their life stories, play affirmation games, and did Christmas caroling.
